Friday March 9 vs. Reds

It was a beautiful way to end the weekend, spending the day at Scottsdale Stadium watching the Giants.  It was even a better day to be a baseball fan because some elite talent was showcased out on the field from both the Giants and Reds.
Buster Posey made his return to the squat after a devastating injury sidelined him early last May that dearly hurt the Giants offense the rest of the season. Posey went 0-1 at the plate but just seeing him again is enough joy for me.
Freddy Sanchez also debut for the first time this season, hitting in the DH spot.
The Reds top talent and young phenom, Aroldis Chapman, took to the hill and was nothing but spectacular as he  put away all six batters he faced.
Chapman hit 100 mph on the radar gun while facing Pablo Sandoval and averaged about 96 mph for the day.

Giants Fantasy Camp vs. Cubs Fantasy Camp

Hey everyone, baseball is just around the corner but for some lucky guys and gals, they get the chance to be a San Francisco Giant for a week during fantasy camp.  In the fantasy camp, they get to be instructed by Giants greats like J.T. Snow, Shawn Estes, Vida Blue, Jack Clark, Bill Swift and plenty others.  They also get to play against another pro fantasy camp.  Half of the campers travel to Mesa to play half of the Cubs fantasy camp while the other half stays in Scottsdale to play the other half of the Cubs campers.  It's a great time had by all.

About a month!!!

It's really hard to believe that all the holidays are over.  With having a child who is growing up so fast, time is erasing at leaps and bounds.  Leaping and bounding towards baseball season though which makes me really excited.  Looking at the calender and today being the 8th, there is about a month before spring training starts.  I can't wait to take my son.  My dad took my brothers and I when were kids.  Now it's my turn.  Can't wait.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  I hope everyone received all the gifts they were wanting to get.  I hope everyone had a special time of year with the people you love.  I sure did.  And Santa brought me some pretty sweet Giants gear.  I am ready for 2012!
